Why Convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is a modern image format developed by Google that offers smaller file sizes than JPG and PNG. However, it is not universally supported — many photo editors, older devices, and some social media platforms still expect JPG. Converting to JPG ensures your images open everywhere without compatibility issues.
Is any quality lost in the conversion?
At 92% quality (the default), the visual difference between WebP and the converted JPG is imperceptible to the human eye. You can lower the quality slider to reduce file size further, or raise it to 100% for a lossless-equivalent output.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent areas in the original WebP are filled with white during conversion. If you need to preserve transparency, convert to PNG instead.
